RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan received the French partners engaged in the organizational activities of the “Manouchian Week” program. ESCS Deputy Minister Daniel Danielyan also participated in the meeting.
Extending a warm welcome to attendees and expressing gratitude for the initiative, ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized that numerous events were organized within the framework of the week including theatre performances, film screenings, and exhibitions.
Highlighting the program, the Minister noted that the events of the “Manouchian Week” program were realized through the collaborative efforts of Armenian and French partners.
“The values and ideas highlighted within the “Manouchian Week” events will undoubtedly remain a key policy of the Armenia-France relations. I think we will further implement many joint projects,” noted the Minister, expressing gratitude for the fruitful cooperation.
According to Zhanna Andreasyan, it is also no coincidence that within the framework of the “Manouchian Week”, the launch of two-month events of the Francophonie was announced, which, according to the Minister, primarily relates to the dialogue of values.
Head of the “SATÉH-ATGH” Theater Union Sateհ Khachatryan, claims that although March 18 is the concluding event, it will also mark the start of Manouchian's character's reinterpretation and the public will start to feel the Manouchian vibe.
Deputy Minister Daniel Danielyan highlighted that the “Manouchian Week” program once again strengthens the past and present ties between Armenia and France. The project also aligns with the content of the Cultural Education Year announced by the ESCS Ministry.
The French partners also expressed their gratitude for the collaborative efforts and the result achieved.
“We are united by the Manouchian ideology. By transferring his remains to Paris Pantheon, we intended to demonstrate that being French is first and foremost an expression of a set of values and fraternity. Manouchian sacrificed his life for peace as a true citizen,” said Jean-Pierre Sakoun, Chairman of the Missak Manouchian Pantheonization Committee.
It should be noted that the “Manouchian Week” program is implemented by the “SATÉH-ATGH” Theater Union and the “Art-Image” cultural organization with the assistance of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Yerevan Municipality, the Representation of the European Union in Armenia, the French Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the Lyon Mayor's Office.
The “Manouchian Week” program's activities started on March 14 and will finish tomorrow, March 18.
